Welcome to Artco! By signing up for a Vendor Membership, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms outline the rights and responsibilities of both Artco and it's vendor members. Please read them carefully.
A vendor may be an artist, gallery, or supplier of products/services to the arts
1. Membership Overview
1.1 Vendors join Artco by paying an annual membership fee of $100.
1.2 Membership includes unlimited uploads of artwork for sale through the Artco platform.
1.3 Artco does not charge any commission on sales. Vendors retain 100% of proceeds from their sales.
2. Vendor Control and Responsibilities
2.1 Vendors have full control over their profiles, including:
Setting prices for their artwork.
Updating or changing prices at any time.
Managing how their work is portrayed online.
2.2 Vendors are responsible for:
Communicating directly with buyers after a sale is made.
Fulfilling orders, including arranging payment, shipping, and delivery.
Updating their Artco dashboard to confirm when a piece has been delivered.
2.3 Artco acts solely as a facilitator, providing a platform for buyers to discover artwork. Artco is not responsible for order fulfillment, disputes, or communication between vendors and buyers.
2.4 Vendors are encouraged to set pricing on Artco in alignment with other platforms or sales channels to maintain price parity and establish a consistent value for their work.
3. Transactions and Fulfillment
3.1 All transactions are conducted directly between the vendor and the buyer. Payment is made directly to the vendor using their preferred payment method.
3.2 Once a purchase is completed through Artco’s checkout process:
Both the vendor and buyer will receive email notifications.
The vendor must communicate with the buyer to arrange payment, shipping, and any other details.
3.3 Artco does not hold funds or monitor communications between vendors and buyers.
4. VIP Rewards Collection
4.1 Artco offers a VIP Rewards Program for paid-tier buyers, which includes a 40% discount on selected artworks in the VIP Rewards Collection.
4.2 Vendors have the option to include any or all of their pieces in the VIP Rewards Collection. Participation is entirely voluntary.
4.3 Artco recommends participation in the program as a marketing opportunity to incentivize VIP buyers and increase sales.
4.4 Buyers on the free membership tier purchase artworks at full price, regardless of VIP Rewards availability.
5. Membership Pricing and Foundation Members
5.1 Artco reserves the right to change the annual membership fee at any time.
5.2 Vendors will only be charged the updated price at the time of their membership renewal.
5.3 Foundation Members (limited to 500 total) will retain their fixed $100/year membership fee for as long as they remain active members.
5.4 Foundation Members may also receive additional benefits, such as:
First access to promotions and features by Artco
First Round Eligibility for grants and gallery exhibition partnerships.
Other curated opportunities funded by Artco, at its discretion.
6. Non-Exclusivity
6.1 Vendors are under no obligation to exclusively use Artco and are encouraged to promote their work through other platforms, physical stores, markets, and galleries.
6.2 Artco supports collaboration with galleries, allowing vendors to link their profiles to gallery exhibitions. Vendors can mark pieces as "on exhibition," linking to the gallery’s online store or website. This is encouraged even though it may mean reduced income on a sale, as galleries play an important role in promotion of art and incur all costs of promotion and space for your work to be exhibited and hopefully sold whilst there. Exhibitions raise an artist’s profile and will garner more interest in other works.
7. Disputes and Liability
7.1 Any disputes arising between buyers and vendors are outside the scope of Artco’s responsibilities.
7.2 Artco is not liable for any issues related to transactions, fulfillment, or communication between vendors and buyers.
8. Artco’s Role and Mission
8.1 Artco provides a streamlined platform for buyers to discover and purchase artwork directly from vendors.
8.2 Artco is a for-profit entity with a mission to improve the art industry by:
Offering zero-commission sales.
Using revenue to assist vendors through grants, exhibitions, and other opportunities.
Providing better access and fairer returns for artists across all mediums.
9. Changes to Terms and Conditions
9.1 Artco reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
9.2 Vendors will be notified of any changes, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
